Jazmin Yom Tov's show career starting youth riders horse, Duna Luna, has passed away. She was 20 years old.

Duna Luna was a Westfalian mare by Damon Hill out of Rokkoko (by Rosenkavalier x Fruhlingstraum). She was bred by Josef Fiege.

The chestnut mare was first shown in Germany as a 4-year old in 2009. Under Petra Suchomel she showed from A to L-level until the spring of 2010.

German junior Marie-Claire Pöppelmann took over in the late summer of 2010 and first showed her at L-level. They rode the L-level tests at the 2012 German Youth Championships in Hünxe. It was a division which preceded the children division.

In 2014 the pair made its international show debut at junior level at the CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland in The Netherlands. At the 2014 Preis der Besten they were 7th which meant an invitation to the German team selection trial at the CDIO-JR Hagen 'Future Champions'. They were 14th in the team test and did not make the team.

Pöppelmann's trainer at the time, Helen Langehanenberg, showed Duna Luna once at S-level in September 2014.

Duna Luna sold to Hungarian Arie Yom-Tov for his then 13-year old daughter Jazmin to ride.  Pöppelmann never returned to the international arena, but continued showing nationally until 2020 after which she quit competition sport.

Duna Luna was the very first horse Jazmin competed in the international ring in the pilot year of the children's division at the 2015 CDIO-CH Hagen, where she finished sixth and fourth. She then rode the mare at the first European Children Championships held in Vidauban (FRA) in July 2015 and she placed 9th.  In September of that year she made the transition to junior level at the CDI Fot, followed by a start at the CDI Kaposvar.

In 2016 Jazmin did not show Duna Luna internationally but focused on pony Jazzo and junior horse Willem Alexander (KWPN, by Negro x Flemmingh) and Oldi (OLD, by Swagman x Don Primero) instead.

In 2017 they returned to the arena at Young Riders level and showed at CDI's in Caselle di Sommacampagna, Mariakalnok, Roosendaal and Diepenbeek. Duna Luna became a reserve team horse to Oldi for the 2017 Europeans.

Diepenbeek was Duna Luna's last CDI with Jazmin.  She returned two years later with Hungarian Gabriella Erdi for one CDI at Young Riders level in Brno in June 2019.

Duna Luna has now passed away at age 20.

"Thank you for starting my journey in dressage, you took me to my first European championships, where not only did you get me in the finals but gained me an amazing 9th place, you took me so many places, and taught me so so much. You were my first “real dressage horse”," said Jazmin. "You are so special I can’t seem to find words to describe it."
