German Lana-Pinou Baumgürtel made its an imposing sweep at the 2025 European Young Riders Championships in Kronberg, Germany. The 19-year old won double individual gold after already claiming the team gold medal earlier in the week.
The 2025 European Young Riders Championships took place at Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's Gestut Schafhof near Frankfurt, Germany, on 9 - 13 July 2025. The event co-incided with the European Under 25 Championships bringing Europe's best youth riders together for a week of competition under the summer sun.
Individual Test Gold
The individual test was held on Friday and Saturday 11 - 12 July and was judged by Marlena Gruca Rucinska, Maria Colliander, Frederico Pinteus, Patricia Wolters, and Elke Ebert.
The 21-year old Lana-Pinou Baumgürtel and her 11-year old Westfalian mare Emma (by Escolar x Laurentianer) reigned supreme with a 75.206% earning test which kept her far ahead of her rivals. The judges placed her first unanimously. The pair scored high marks in the trot extensions and tempi changes, but lost a few points in the left canter pirouette and rein back.
"I was completely blown away by the scores," said van Dulst who began riding the chestnut as a 4-year old but alternated the ride with her mom due to her schedule. "We really rode a huge personal record. During the warm-up, I thought, 'I'm not quite there yet,' but the moment you get on the track with him, he just does it. It's such a great feeling to be able to rely on him so much!”
Right on her heels and onto the podium was Denmark's Anna Teibel Raben aboard the 8-year old Danish bred Sparaday (by Torveslettens Spartacus x Don Frederic) with 72.706%. She edged out Pinou's elder sister Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtl, who won triple gold at last year's European Young Riders Championships on the same horse, her 13-year old KWPN gelding Hugo by Spielberg x San Remo.
"It was the wildest feeling to step on the podium and have the bronze medal hanging around my neck," Anna Raben told Ridehesten. I am so proud of Sparaday and so grateful for all the experiences I have with him, and this has always been the biggest dream. It has been the most pleasant days together with all the Danes - there has been a fantastic team, and we have had so much fun. I am so happy."

Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel followed in silver medal position, posting 76.580%, while Anna Teibel Raben was back to bronze with a fraction less, 76.490%.
