Diamante Farm's Scala Sold to Candoit Farm

While Devon Kane just welcomed a new Grand Prix horse at Diamante Farms, she said goodbye to her small tour horse Scala.

Scala is a 10-year old Hanoverian mare by St. Schufro out of Bella Donna K (by Belissimo M x Donnerhall). She is bred by Georg Kok.

From Switzerland to Germany

The black mare was first competed in Switzerland by Meret Wehrli Eser in 2018 when she was three. In 2019 Stefan Blanken took place in the saddle an rode her in two shows. Scala returned to the arena two years later in 2020 under Vera Nass.

In 2021 it was Juliane Brunkhorst's turn to campaign her at four shows in the north of Germany. Brunkhorst developed Scala to Prix St. Georges level and showed her in her first small tour tests in the spring of 2022. The mare was owned by Bernhard Schäffer at the time.

In 2023 Holga Finken continued her sport career before selling to the U.S.A.

Diamante Farm

Scala was acquired by the Kane family of Diamante Farm in Wellington, Florida, and the ride allocated to son-in-law Kevin Kohmann.

Kevin and Scala made their show debut at the Global Dressage Festival at the start of January 2024 and first rode her in the CDI ring in Devon in September 2024 placing second in the PSG and winning the Intermediaire I. In 2025 he competed her at international small tour level in Wellington, winning three times.

In the late spring they flew to Europe to train with Christoph Koschel and compete at the CDI Hagen in June and CDIO Aachen, where they were 5th and 8th in the small tour.

Candoit Farm

Scala sold to Wendy Petrik of Candoit Farm in Jupiter, FL in August.

Candoit riders Adam Steffens and Sven Smienk were training with Christoph Koschel in Europe for the summer and stayed at Sportpferde im Brook in Ibbenbüren.

This weekend, Adam Steffens-Smienk made his show debut on Scala at the CDN Ocala on Friday 12 December 2025. He showed her in the national Prix St Georges to score 71.912% for second place.
