German Grand Prix rider Timo Kemmerer got severely injured in a riding accident almost a month ago. After being hospitalized he is now fortunately on the road to recovery.
The 40-year old fell off a young horse that bolted and reared. He had to be airlifted by helicopter to the emergency room of the hospital in Ludwigshafen, where he was diagnosed with two broken cervical vertebrae and three ribs.
He underwent surgery to stabilise the fractures.
"Considering the circumstances, he is doing well," his wife Aileen confirmed to Eurodressage. "He is now back home. Fortunately, he will make a full recovery. He is already looking forward to being back in the saddle."
Kemmerer is the Baden Wurttemberger regional champion. He recently sold his top horse FBW Dantes Zazou has been sold to Adrian Gasser for Bianca Nowag to ride.
