The internationally competed Belgian Grand Prix horse Kozinsky van den Dries has been sold into British-American ownership.

Kozinsky van den Dries is a 16-year old Belgian warmblood stallion by Quaterback out of Riante van den Dries (by Clavecimbel x Variant). He is bred by Dirk Laevens.

Licensed Stallion

Kozinsky became the only dressage stallion accepted at the 2014 Belgian Warmblood Stallion Licensing.

The bay went to do the 30-Day Stallion Performance Testing in Neustadt/Dosse, Germany, in November 2014. He scored 8.34 points with 8.99 for dressage and 7.75 for show jumping.

He has 36 offspring registered with the BWP studbook, born between 2015 and 2023. He was proclaimed "elite" sire by BWP in 2022.

Sport Career

Trained and competed by Kevin Laeven from young horse level to Grand Prix, Kozinsky made his show debut as a 4-year old in June 2014.

In 2015 he represented Belgium at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden. After a 36th plave in the preliminary test (70.50), he placed 25th in the consolation finals with 61.500 points.

They won the bronze medal twice at the 2015 and 2016 Belgian Young Horse Championships.

Their international small tour debut followed in December 2018 at the CDI-W Mechelen and they stayed at small tour level through 2020 with CDI starts in Lier and Compiegne. Their national Grand Prix debut was in July 2021 in Flemalle to a 65.978% score. The pair did two CDI's at Grand Prix level: the first one in Deauville in July 2022 and the second one two years later in March 2024 in Lier.

The pair's last competition start was in May 2026 at the Belgian Grand Prix Championships, where they finished 16th out of 18 contestants.

Sold to the U.K.

In May 2026 the ownership of the stallion changed to Adam and Stacy Brass, who were based in the U.S.A. but recently relocated to Great Britain.

The Brass family plans to support Kevin on Kozinsky for this season and then Stacy will spend more time getting to know the stallion under saddle herself.

Stacy Brass has a busy schedule ahead as she splits her time between the family home in the UK, Belgium for training, and Kentucky, USA, for family and business reasons. She will also take part in winters in Wellington. Stacy collaborates with Patricia Becker of Fireside Farm to to assist her with installing a stallion station at her farm.
