When the 40th Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction opens its doors on Saturday, August 8, at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta, the spotlight will be on approximately 80 carefully selected dressage and show jumping foals. The collection brings together proven performance bloodlines, modern top sires, and promising prospects for competition and breeding. Two dressage colts exemplify the exceptional quality of this year’s elite collection.

Colt by Erste Sahne out of VbPrSt. Bella Bella S by Belantis I – Samba Hit I – Rubinstein I
El Tri is a dressage prospect with powerful movement from the first crop of the Escamillo son Erste Sahne, who is currently seven years old and celebrating his first successes in S-level dressage under Johanna Wadenspanner. On the dam’s side, the pedigree is exclusively rounded out by Belantis I, Samba Hit I, and Rubinstein I.
The family lineage also speaks for itself: his brother Elantic by Erdinger was licensed. The dam line also produced the Grand Prix horses Wolkenritter and Fürst Flipper—both ridden by Amanda Hartung (AUT)—Lisara, ridden by James Connor (IRL), as well as the licensed stallions Gambler’s Star, Ariston, Aramis, Power Pilot, and Vienna Ninja.

Colt by Sebastino PS out of VbPrSt. Falaiah by Zatchmo – Rubinstein – Freiherr
Soulmann is another promising prospect from one of the most significant Oldenburg maternal lines in the collection. This son of Sebastino PS hails from the successful Fackila line, which has produced, among others, the Grand Prix-winning Fackeltanz OLD and the European Championship bronze medalist Delaunay OLD.
This modern-looking stallion prospect, with powerful gaits in every situation, impresses with the presence of a future sire. His siblings have already found international buyers: His sister Bonne Chance was sold to the U.S. as a foal, and his brother Bonsai went to North Rhine-Westphalia. Through his sire, Sebastino PS, this distinguished dam line also traces back to the Grand Prix winner Zatchmo, ridden by Nanna Skodborg Merrald (DEN). The family also produced the U.S. champion Damon’s Fantasy, ridden by Kathy Priest (USA), as well as numerous other successful sport horses.
These two dressage foals represent a collection that meets the highest standards for performance, pedigree, and potential. On August 8, the auction day begins at 12:30 p.m. with the presentation of the show jumping foals at a gallop, followed by the dressage foals at 2:00 p.m. The OnLive auction begins at 5:00 p.m. on the outdoor arena at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta.
