Jialotta de Vlinder became the best selling foal in the 2026 DSP Foal auction held in Riedlingen, Germany, on 22 August 2026.
Coloured Jumper Top Seller
The appaloosa coloured offspring of J-Nius V.V.Z continues to be the "attraction" for novelty buyers, also in Riedlingen.
The brown-and-white leopard spotted foal Jialotta de Vlinder (by J-Nius V.V.Z x Catoki), bred by Gabriela Schlüsselburg, was the top seller for 31,500 euro. A bidder from Brazil remained “in the running” online until shortly before the hammer fell, but was ultimately unable to prevail.
Dressage Foals
The most expensive dressage foal was Krügerlady (by Krügerrand x Sandro Hit) which sold to Austria for 25,000 euro. Bred by Schuster from Ellwangen, the filly sold to Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp.

A trainer from Baden-Württemberg secured Susi Sonnenschein (by Seacrest x Fürst Zonik PS) for 16,000 euro, as well as Dolce Vita (by Va Bene x Dante Weltino) for 7,500 euro.
Sky and Sand (by Sky x Sandro Hit x) had a hammer price of 0,750 euro. Vega S (by Va Bene x Danone) went for 10,000 euro. Pocahontas (by Proud James x Escolar) and Elroq K (by Esperanto x Boss Hoss) sold for 9,000 euro. Faber Pastell (by Fiji x Grey Flanell) went for 8,750 euro.
Among the pony foals Da Vinci (by Delta Gold AT x Cadlanvalley Sir Ivanhoe) set the highest hammer price at 6,000 euro.
A Look at the Statistics

"Both total sales and price levels were lower than the previous year, though this must be considered satisfactory given the current situation," Riedlingen stated. " In addition to the general economic situation, the forage shortage—which has become critical in recent weeks—certainly did not have a positive effect on buyer sentiment. However, looking at the results over the past ten years, 2026 marks the first decline during this period. Prior to that, there had been year-over-year increases."
In 2025 a new record was set for both sales volume and price levels. Looking at the 2026 results, however, Germany’s oldest foal auction continues to perform at a high and solid level.
