Dutch Equestrian Magazine Hoefslag announced that Olympic Ferro might soon be seen back in the show ring. According to Coby van Baalen, Olympic Ferro is on the way of recovery.
Van Baalen loved to have entered the first World Cup Qualifier with her black stallion, but he was not yet fully healed.
"Olympic Ferro has a severe tendon injury and it takes long for such an injury to heal," Van Baalen commented. Ferro is taken well care of by vet Hans van Schie.
After the Olympic Games, Ferro no longer had to compete and was focussed completely on his breeding career. Not only did he miss the CHIO Aachen June 2001, but also the European Dressage Championships in Verden. But now the black gets rest from his stallion duties too.
"This full rest will definitely fasten the healing process," Van Baalen noted. "No horse in my barn is equal to Ferro but, besides Welcome, I also have Welt Hit II which I'm going to compete at Grand Prix level next week." Van Baalen will also be bringing along a few young horses. "I'm glad that I can still ride along with the best," Van Baalen said.
