Fioretto, Price Highlight at 2007 NRW Winter Auction in Münster

The 4-year old bay Westfalian gelding Fioretto was the price highlight of the 2007 NRW Winter Auction in Münster-Handorf, January 21, 2007. The Florestan x Grundstein I offspring, bred by Martina Wenzel, sold for 92,000 euro.

The second most expensive horse was the bay gelding Caspari. The 4-year old Charming x Prince Thatch xx son sold for 40,000 euro. Hopkins, a Hogwart x Polydor gelding, sold for the same price.

Twelve young stallions born in 2004 were auctioned. The top selling on was Sokrates, a Sunny Boy x Florestan, bred by Helga Hahne. He sold for 22,000 euro. The most expensive pony was Nannika, a bay mare by Nantano x Top Gun I. This 4-year old sold for 6,000 euro.

The average price for a horse at the 2007 NRW Winter Auction was 14,574 euro. Biggest exporters were the U.S.A. and the U.K; eleven horses sold to the U.S.A, seven to Great Britain.
