The bay gelding Franklin became the price highlight of the 2009 NRW Handorf Extra winter auction in Munster-Handorf, Germany. The 4-year old gelding by Furst Piccolo x Wonneberger x Don Juan sold for 52,000 euro.
He was bred and presented at auction by Wilhelm Brandt from Porta Westfalica, Germany.
The rising 6-year old bay gelding Sambuco (by Sandro Hit x Donnerschwee x Augustinus xx) sold for 41,500 euro, while 2003 born Robianny, a bay mare by Rockwell x Williams x Nachtfalter, achieved a knock down price of 34,000 euro.
The best selling young colt was Furst Andiamo. This soon to be 3-year old by Furst Grandios x Andiamo bred by Johannes Ruter, sold for 17,500 euro. The top selling pony was Carlotta, a 4-year old bay mare by Charm of Nibelungen. Bred by Hendrik Schulte-Marter, she sold for 13,200 euro.
Sixty riding horses sold at this year's Handorf Extra auction and they achieved an average price of 10,428 €. Biggest foreign buying country was Belgium. They acquired three horses from the collection.
