The talented Swedish bred Grand Prix horse Biggles has a new rider: Kristian von Krusenstierna. Since the retirement of Jan Brink from the international competition sport, the bay Swedish warmblood stallion was virtually without a competition rider and a new one has been found in Krusenstierna.
The 12-year old bay stallion by Briar x Krevad x Falstaff has been trained to Grand Prix level by Jan Brink and is owned by the Lundberg-Persson family. Biggles was the Stallion Performance Test winner and under Brink he won the Scandinavian Open and the Breeders Trophy. He competed at the 2003 World Young Horse Championships in Verden and the pair went on to conquer the 7-year old dressage horse championships in Falsterbo.
The search for a new rider for Biggles had been going on for a while, but Von Krusenstierna is now the man to do the job. The brand new combination aims for the 2012 Olympic Games in London and maybe even the World Equestrian Games.
"To be on the national team with Biggles, he'll have to learn the Stockholm dialect," von Krusenstierna joked. "I don't understand the dialect from skåsnk, which Jan taught him."
The 33-year old Kristian is trained by Kyra Kyrklund.
