The 2012 auction year kicked off with the Hanoverian Winter Auction in Verden on Saturday 21 January 2012. The 4-year old chestnut mare Sunshine (by San Remo x Frenchman) became the top seller.
The chestnut dressage mare, which is bred by Samantha Hahn, sold for 47,000 euro to a dressage stable in Schleswig-Holstein.
The second most expensive horse of this auction was the 4-year old mare Secret Love (by Sir Donnerhall I x Rotspon) which moves to Switzerland for 45,000 euro
The most expensive horse was the show jumping mare Bellamie (by Balou de Rouet x Sandro) which moves to a new stable for 30,000 euro. The 3-year old gelding Donnerknall (by Donnerball x Weltmeyer) sold for 30,000 euro, while the 3-year old gelding Stuart (by St Moritz x Brentano II) moves to Switzerland for 27,000 euro.
Ninety-two horses were sold at this Hanoverian winter auction and they achieved an average knock down price of 13,271 euro. Forty-nine horses sold abroad and Finnish and French buyers were the most active, each buying 8 horses.
