The first horse of the 2012 Hanoverian May Auction immediately became the price highlight of the day. The 4-year old bay mare Serena-Serenity (by Sandro Hit x Furst Heinrich) sold for 40,000 euro to local customers.
Customers from abroad acquired 37 horses of the May collection and these horses will be exported to 14 different countries. French clients purchased no less than 12 horses, amongst them Hermann Janssen's black Lubina (by Light and Easy x Rohdiamant) which sold for 14,000 euro.
Customers from France also acquired the top-priced jumper of the day, Conte du Rouet (by Contendro x Balou du Rouet) for 20,000 euro. Countries such as Portugal and Liechenstein each bought three Hanoverians, while five horses move to Great Britain.
The 4-year old mare Fee (by Fidertanz x Prince Thatch xx) sold for 21,000 to a lower saxony based client, while the 4-year old gelding Live is Life (by Lauries Crusador xx x Raphael) moves to the U.S.A. for 20,000 euro.
Dr. Werner Schade concluded: *The prices were mo-dest, and it was a customer-friendly auction."
The 2,500 spectators in the sold-out Niedersachsenhalle experienced an incredibly overwhelming show event the evening before the May Auction: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) performed their Musical Ride as the crowning finish of a mixed show program. Prime Minister David McAllister was given the honour to open the show with the traditional salute. The "Mounties" in their impressive red uniforms and her 36 black Hanoverian horses captivated the audience with their sophisticated choreography and their rousing performances which finally ended in several minutes of thunderous applause and standing ovation!
The 93 Hanoverian horses of the May collection were sold at an average price of 10,395 euro.
