The 5-year old Furst Hit (by Furstenball x Diamond Hit) and the dressage colt Grey Fantastic became the top selling horses at the 2016 Hanoverian Summer Auction of Sport Horses and Foals in Verden, Germany, on Saturday 16 July 2016.
Bred by Jochen Dittmer and owned by American Scott Zahner, the young sport horse Furst Hit sold for 36,000 euro to a dressage yard in Schleswig-Holstein.
The most expensive show jumper of the collection was the 4-year old Vamos (by Valentino x Uccello), which sold for 27,000 euro.
The 4-year old chestnut gelding Lexington (by Londonderry x Brentano II) sold for 34,000 euro, while the 5-year old Calippo (by Contendros Bube x Matcho AA) sold for 26,000 euro. The 3-year old Deinhard (by Don Frederico x Londonderry) sold for 24,000 euro
The most expensive horse of the auction was in fact the colt foal Grey Fantastic (by Grey Flanell x Foundation), bred by Reinhard Baumgartner. The bay colt sold for 37,000 to local clients. The best selling jumper foal was the colt For Action (by For Pleasure x Stakkato) which sold for 26,000 euro to The Netherlands.
The 2016 Hanoverian Summer Auction included 77 riding horses and 46 foals. The foals achieved an average price of 7,098 euro, the sport horses an average of 14,091 euro.
