The Hanoverian bred youngster Bossa Nova became the top seller of the 2018 Hanoverian July Auction in Verden, Germany, on 13 and 14 July 2018.
For the first time followed a new concept, splitting up the riding horses and foals by discipline (show jumping and dressage).
On Saturday 14 July, the dressage horses came to auction. Bossa Nova (by Bordeaux x Fürstenball) sold to The Netherlands for 37,000 euro. Bred by Wilhelm Klausing, he became the price highlight.
On Friday 13 July Commander (by Chacco Gold x Contendro) sold for 36,000 euro, which was the top price for the show jumping horses. The five-year-old will travel to Sweden.
The 4-year old mare Delicious (by Danone x Stedinger) sold for 27,000 euro, while Dream of Zanzibar (by Dubarry x Weltmeyer) switched owners for 24,000 euro.
The 4-year old mare Fleur de Lys (by Fantastic x Hochadel) achieved a knock down price of 22,000 euro.
Forty-seven foals were auctioned and the most expensive was the colt Sun of Secret (by Secret x Furstenball) which sold for 14,500 euro. The colt Venga Boy (by Vitalis x De Niro) sold for 14,000 euro while both Sunshine Lady (by San Amour x Foundation ) and Ferrez (by Foundation x De Niro) fetched a price of 13,500 euro.
Customers from 13 different countries bought 30 horses, among them both price peaks. The average price for a riding horse was 15,108 euro, for a foal 6,630 euro.
