Wow, we got so much response to this photo on the right. On the Eurodressage Instagram account we played this game "Ask Me a Question" in Stories. Our editor-in-chief Astrid Appels replied to the best ones. One question was "If you would pair 1 rider and horse combination (future and past) which would it be?" Our reply was Isabell Werth on Mister X. This got a tremendous amount of likes.. Seems like we need to get both Werth and Merkulova to the Hamburg Dressage Derby with finals with horse change.. Only chance ever to see Werth on the Russian super star horse.
At the FEI Board teleconference of 18 November the creation of the IHSC Gene Doping Committee, which is an extension of the IFHA Gene Doping Sub-Committee, was announced. The IHSC Gene Doping Committee has been created to safeguard the integrity of horse sports and to evaluate genetic and cellular therapies with respect to potential welfare, safety, performance and breeding effects. The FEI representatives will be Chair of the FEI Veterinary Committee Jenny Hall, FEI Veterinary Director Göran Åkerström and FEI Senior Veterinary Advisor Caterina Termine.
Charlotte Fry has sold the 6-year old KWPN gelding Jeroen Leatherdale, which she co-owned with Van Olst Horses to the U.K. The 2013 born Jeroen Leatherdale G (by Lord Leatherdale x Negro x Nimmerdor) has been purchased by Nicole Begovic, who trains with Richard Davison. Fry rode the bay gelding in the national Subli Cup young horse classes. The horse was long-listed for the Dutch team for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships.
Swiss Grand Prix rider Raphaelle Reber married Westfalian horse breeder Jörg Boegmann. Reber discovered him, alongside five horses, at the 2013 Borgmann Yard Auction in Bad Bevensen and they have been a couple since 2016. Friedrich "Fieti" Möller passed away at age 73 on 5 October 2020 after a long illness. Möller was known as one of the loyal stable hands at Gestut Vorwerk in the haydays of the station, when they stood Furioso II, Inschallah AA, Weltmeister, and Rubinstein. His uncle was the licensing committee member Theo Wienken, who recommended Fieti to Vorwerk. Möller worked 33 years at the station.
Danish young rider team member Sara Aagaard Hyrm fell off a horse three weeks ago and landed in the hospital. Fortunately nothing too serious happened and after 1.5 weeks of rest, she was back to riding, although on pain killers. Three weeks after her accident she won the 2020 Ecco Cup finals in the young rider category, a national kur championship in Denmark.
With the hiring of Pauline Guillem as its in-house trainer, the French dressage broodmare farm Haras de Malleret has decided to bring home a string of horses which they had allocated to French riders at the start of the year. Golden Romance (Jessica Michel-Botton), Stolzenberg (Alexandre Cheret), For Fable and Zeus (Morgan Barbançon) have left their riders and returned home to Malleret, where they will continue their development under Guillem and Alfonso de la Chica Parras.

Equitaris.de reported that the 27-year old licensed pony stallion Oosteind's Ricky has been gelded. The senior Dutch Welsh pony stallion (by Anjershof Rocky x Downland Folklore) has only retired from stud duties two months ago. The stallion, who had only one ball left, had to be fully castrated now because a tumor was detected on the testicle. Two operations were done on the stallion to remove the 2 kilogram weighing tumour.
Horses.nl reported that Danielle Houtvast lost her 7-year old developing small tour horse Ipad (by Connaisseur x Johnson x Rousseau). Three weeks ago the bay stallion fractured his pelvis in an accident and was transported to the equine clinic in Someren. Although he was slowly recovering, the last week his physical condition deteriorated, struggling to stand up after lying down. It was decided in the best interest of the horse to put him to sleep.
