Vinios and Deauville Gain Mileage and Trophies in Medium Tour at 2022 CDI Wellington

Christina Vinios (USA) continued her unbroken winning streak in the medium tour at the 2022 CDI Wellington on week 3, January 26 - 30, 2022. As sole competitors in three of the four classes over two CDI's in January, she is building her trophy collection and gaining mileage in preparation of the big tour. 

Vinios has been partnering with  Five Rings Farm’s 18-year-old Deauville. On week 1 she first stepped into the ring as a pair and won the Intermediaire A with 66.265% and the Intermediaire II with 66.206% Last weekend she rode to a 64.676% score in the Inter A. In the Intermediair II on Sunday 30 January she bested a field of two with 67.559%. 

Deep Black - Deauville

Vinios' Oldenburg gelding Deauville is by Del Gado out of Bruvanda (by Gervantus I x Aktuell x Futuro). He is bred by Karl-Heinz Bayer in Germany and originally owned by Hubert Ratermann.

Registered in Germany with the name Deep Black, the gelding made his first marks in sport in Belgium as "Deauville". Owned by Vera Daniels, he was competed by Thomas Debecker from Belgium. In 2012 he did national junior level classes and their claim to fame came in 2017 when they won bronze in the Under 25 division at the Belgian Dressage Championships.

Deauville sold to Vinios as a Grand Prix Schoolmaster in the autumn of 2017.

Vinios owns Five Rings Farm, a property referenced to as one of the most beautiful equestrian yards in Florida. 

She made her international show debut in Wellington in 2014 at small tour level aboard Donna Carina (by Don Primero x Castro). 

In 2015 and 2016 she campaigned two horses in the international classes, the small tour mount Folkestone OLD (by Fidertanz x Rubinstein) and the young horse Boston Strong OLD (by Bordeaux x Sandro Hit). Folkestone she acquired at the Oldenburg auctions in Vechta and became the 2015 U.S. Small Tour Champion with.
