The  Trakehner breeding stallion His Moment has passed away following complications from colic surgery. He was 10 years old.

His Moment was a 2014 born stallion by Millennium out of Hermine (by Le Rouge x Tivano). He was bred by Christian Röhl.

Licensing Champion

As a foal His Moment sold at the foal auction in Hanover in 2014 to a consortium of 5 parties.

He became the champion of the 2016 Trakehner Stallion Licensing and sold at licensing auction for 200,000 euro to Andreas Helgstrand.

In March 2017 he did 14-day suitability test in Denmark, scoring 7.75 for dressage and 8 for jumping to finish on a total of 8.10 points.

 Fertility Issues

Due to questionable fertility, Helgstrand returned His Moment to a part of the original owners' consortium (breeder Röhl and Bernhard Langels of Gestüt Schälitz) in December 2017.

The Trakehner society negotiated a transition deal and His Moment moved to Mario von Depka's Gut Lonken, where the Hanover university clinic tested the stallion's semen regularly. In 2018 the stallion moved to the Brandenburg state stud in Neustadt/Dosse and after that h went to Beate Langels' Gestut Hämelschenburg, who took over the care of the stallion.

In February 2018 he scored 7.58 in his first mandatory sport test and in the autumn of 2021 he did the 50-day stallion performance test in Schlieckau where he got 7.90 for dressage. He was also approved for Brandenburg and Westfalia.

He moved into training with Jonny Hilberath but the stallion's sport career was negligeable. According to to German FN database he competed in just three shows in his life: two local events in 2019 under Vera Nass and one local show in July 2021 with Melanie zu Baringdorf.

Offspring

His Moment was not able to produce much offspring but the get he produced  did well. He sired three licensed sons (Gaspard, Partylook, Schäplitzer) and five state premium daughters.

He has only five offspring registered for sport in Germany.

Colic

Unfortunately a sever colic attack cut his life short.

"After a severe colic and surgery, His Moment unfortunately had to be put down in the veterinary clinic today," Beate Langels reported on 7 June.  "We are infinitely sad that the stallion had to leave the stage of life so suddenly and unexpectedly."

Langels referred to Christian Röhl as well as Bernhard and Sabine Langels as co-owners of the stallion.
