After a two-year lay-over at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, the Aachen Dressage Days will return to their original location at the CHIO Aachen show grounds for a CDI 3* event on 21 - 22 May 2024.

This highly interesting mid-week international competition offers CDI classes for Young Horses, Juniors, a 1* small tour, a 2* medium tour and a 3* non OG/MER Grand Prix tour.

Hallowed Grounds of Aachen

Organized by the Aachener Dressurverein with the colourful couple, Renate and Franz-Josef Dahmen as hosts, the Aachen Dressage Days are also known as "mini-Aachen" and became known as a highly praised, low pressure event when it was first held in 2018.

The CHIO Aachen venue offers the best conditions in the world with permanent boxes, outstanding footing in all arenas, and  spacious indoor and outdoor warm-up rings. The show guarantees an intimate, low-pressure atmosphere where experienced riders can compete young developing horses and amateurs and upcoming riders can compete in front of a high class judges panel.

The ground jury includes 5* judges Christof Umbach, Evi Eisenhardt, Raphaël Saleh, and Katrina Wüst, as well as 4* and 3* judges Frederico Pinteus, Patricia Wolters, Jacques van Daele, and Nicole Nockeman.

"We are thrilled to be back in Aachen with our show and look forward to welcoming as many flags as possible at our event," said an enthusiastic Renate Dahmen. "Everybody loves to compete in the Aachen dressage stadium. The stabling and footing are perfect here, and we'll make sure everybody has a great time at our high quality competition."

Interesting Classes for Schooling and Scores

Aachen's central location in West Europe makes it ideal for riders to limit the travel distance and trailer time for their horses. They can arrive at the show grounds well rested for competition.

The event takes place on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May with the horse inspection on Monday.

The big tour puts on the Grand Prix and Special, the medium tour will have the Intermediaire A and Intermediaire II and the small tour will consist of a Prix St Georges and Intermediaire I.

There are also two classes for juniors: the team and individual test, while the CDI-YH young horse classes will be held for 6-year olds. They give riders to chance to obtain qualification scores for the 2024 World Young Horse Championships later that year.
