New member of the Belgian F.E.I. Riders' Profile page is Véronique de Baecker. The 20 year old rider from Brasschaat, Belgium, has created a magnificent list of achievements over the past 7 years.
With her Dutch NRPS pony Fuego (by Ismael ox) she became the quadruple Belgian Pony Champion, further, she won the individual silver medal at the 1994 European Pony Championships in Hasselt (BEL), and a 3rd individual place and team silver at the 1995 Championships in Achselschwang, Germany.
Quickly changing to horses at age 16, Véronique made this difficult transfer pretty easily. With the Dutch warmblood Herrzas (Consul x Urgent) she won team gold at the 1996 CDI Hickstead and participated in the European Junior Riders Championships in Moorsele (BEL).
After taking a break in 1998, Véronique is totally back now as she hushed every sound round the arena by winning the consolation finals at the 1999 European Young Riders' Championships in Ksiaz, Poland. Trained by the German Hermann Gössmeier Véronique has more in store for the future.
