Winner of the 2001 Euro-Future Cup for Young Riders was the German Nicola Giesen aboard her chestnut gelding Slow Fox V. Dominating the entire Euro-Future Cup circuit
, a series of Young Riders competition coinciding with larger top CDI-competitions throughout Europe, Nicola Giesen proved that she fully deserved her title of 2001 European Young Rider Dressage Champion.
The four qualifying competitions in Münster/GER, Hickstead/GBR, Wanroij/NED and St. Nizier/FRA were already enough to indicate that Nicole Giesen is the best in Europe, but at the finals in Frankfurt she wielded the axe of power again.
Manfred Luven, owner of breeding station Waldfried and main sponsor of the Euro-Future Cup, was very pleased with the 2001 edition of the Euro-Future Cup. "By organizing such competitions, we want to encourage more countries to actively participate in the dressage sport," Luven explained. "The top of tomorrow has to prove its potential today and with this Cup, we already get a clear view of what is in store."
Nicole Giesen rides Slow Fox V, a Dutch bred chestnut gelding by Saros xx, and is trained by Heiner Schiergen.
