Making an impressive, winning appearance in the Prix St Georges/Intermediaire I European show circuit in 2002 are Isabell Werth and Richard Kimble.
Although scores and ranking are fluctuating every show due to the inexperience of the 8-year old bay Westfalian, the pair has shown flashes of brilliance and is a combination to take into account for the future.
Bred by Jutta Griewel from Werl-Büderich, Germany, Richard Kimble is a bay Westfalian gelding by Ribbeck out of Revenue (by Rheingold). Purchased at the 15th Elite auction in Munster Handorf by Dr Uwe Schulten-Baumer, Richard Kimble was acquired as future prospect for Isabell Werth. Making their entrance on the international show scene at the 2000 World Championships for young dressages horses, Werth and Kimble were, however, not qualified for the finals as Richard was not ripe for the strenuous FEI 6-year old tests. Yet, at the 1998 German Young Horse Championships, the duo became reserve champion in the 4-year old mare and gelding class.
After two years of maturing and a change of owners -- now owned and coached by Madeleine Winter-Schulze -- Richard Kimble is ready for the big time. In January 2002, the duo was undefeatable at the CDI Munster. At the CDI Aubenhausen, the pair hit the magical 70% and even scored 73.10% in the Nurnberg Burgpokal qualifier. At the Turnier der Sieger in Munster, they settled for second place with high notes.
Isabell Werth and Richard Kimble were already featured in Eurodressage FOCUS in September 1999 and rightfully earned there second "in the spotlight".
