International riders from Canada, the USA and New Zealand will arrive from Sunday, 04 May. They will compete in the “small tour” (Prix St. Georges/Intermediate I) on borrowed horses.
All international riders including two from Australia will take part in the International Prix St Georges Derby on Saturday afternoon, starting at midday. Riders draw a horse out of the hat and have 30 minutes before the test to familiarize themselves with their mount.
All eyes will be on the Grand Prix on Friday. Will Mary Hanna and Limbo be able to repeat their winning performance at the recent CDI-W in Vic? Sue Hearn & Manhattan, Heath Ryan & Stilton and Ann Serrao & Centaur will are all expected to provide stiff competition. Young Dressage horse classes will be held on Thursday (4 & 5-year-old qualifiers) and on Friday (6-year-old qualifier). Guest rider Rozzie Ryan will ride the top three horses in each age group on Saturday afternoon starting at 2.30pm.
Saturday night will be full house starting with the Zilco Intermediate Freestyle at 4pm, followed by a showjumping relay, Farewell to the Nations, the Rosemount Grand Prix Freestyle and the finale, “Chicago” Pas de Deux with Claire Wickins and Tor van den Berg. What a night. Sorry all VIP dinner tickets have sold out!
Showjumping entries are HUGE and Sunday will be a great day for showjumping fans with all the big names such as George Sanna, Vicky Roycroft, Chris Chugg among the 24 entries to contest the Grand Prix class indoors. The Young horse jumping finals will also be held on the Sunday.
