After two days of competition at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire Laura Woollen, Megan Daley and Timothy Munday were announced as the winners of the BDSC Talent Spotting Final 2004.

Laura, 15, from Ledbury in Herefordshire was named as the Pony rider winner after riding and assessing horses in front Chief Pony Selector Maureen Newall, Trainer Hannah Moody and FEI International Judge Jane Kidd.

Junior winner Megan Daley, 15, from Ludlow in Shropshire was assessed by Norwegian International Judge Kjell Myhre, Trainer Paul Fielder and Selector Rachel Hillier, and Young Rider winner Timothy Munday, 19, from Stourbridge in the West Midlands, was judged by all six previous assessors.

Talking about the winners Maureen Newall said: " All the finalists were of a very high standard and showed a great deal of talent. The winners were particularly impressive, producing excellent results from each of the horses they rode and giving good verbal assessments."

Each winner was awarded a £250 training grant, a bridle kindly donated by the Worshipful Company of Saddlers and a trophy.

Previous winners include Olympic dressage rider Joanna Jackson, Hannah Esberger-Shepherd and Daniel Sheriff.

British Dressage would like to thank the British Dressage Supporters Club (BDSC) for proving the training grants and all the owners who allowed their horses to be used for the BDSC Talent Spotting Final - Mrs P Hutton, Mr S Day, Miss M Allen, Mr I Woodhead and Mrs F Allen.
