This year, the 2005 European Dressage Championships will be set at a more oriental location than its previous venues in Arnhem, Verden, and Hickstead. Dressage riders
, who qualify for the championships, and fans and supporters will have to be bold and break through the Eastern European frontier if they want to attend the 2005 European Championship. The event takes place in Moscow, Russia and happens July 27 to 31, 2005.
The minimum requirements in order to qualify for participation at the 2005 European Championship, are the following: riders and horses (as a combination) must have attained 2 results of at least 64% in a Grand Prix at two different CDI3*s/CDI-Ws/CDIOs/Championships from January 1, 2004 until the deadline for receipt of "Certificates of Capability" (June 27, 2005). Each of these qualifying percentages must be given by different FEI Official International Dressage Judges of a nationality other than that of the rider.
The current Russian Grand Prix dressage riders who try to penetrate in the international circuit are Alexandra Korelova (on Balagur), Elena Kalinina (on Sydney 2000), and Tatyana Yanson (on Ford).
