At the upcoming German national dressage show in Munster, Ingrid Klimke will make her come back in the Grand prix dressage show ring. After the sale of her top horse Nector van het Carelshof in 2002 and a short appearance in the Grand Prix ring
with Don Jos at the beginning of 2004, Klimke faded out of the lime light for a while. The shoulder injury she sustained three months ago messed up her 2004 show schedule as well, but for the 2005 season, Klimke seems to be back for the big time. And this time with two horses: Robinson's Santa Cruz (by Silvio) and FBW Lonevan (by Lagoheidor).
For the Rolinck Cup in Munster, Klimke will be saddling her fresh, new Grand Prix horse Robinson's Santa Cruz. This chestnut Hanoverian mare is known at the barn as "Luzi Langohr" (Lucy long Ear). In 2004, Klimke still rode this mare at Prix St Georges level, qualifying her for the 2004 Nurnberg Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt. "She placed 9th in the Nurnberg Burgpokal and we won the equitation prize for best seat," Klimke reported. "I'm feeling brave and reserved an entry in the Grand Prix in Munster."
In preparation of the Rolinck Cup, Klimke has been trailering her horses to Klaus Balkenhol's farm in Rosendahl, Germany, for some fine tuning.
