Horses Unlimited's Hanoverian stallion Wild Dance shone in the 2005 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals at the World Cup Qualifier in Frankfurt, Germany. The American owned chestnut licensed stallion became reserve champion in the Finals
after having won the qualifier of Aubenhausen with the highest score (75.67%) of all horses qualified to compete in Frankfurt.
At the Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt, Wild Dance placed second with 71.500 % in the Prix St Georges in the first round, but stayed closely on the heels of the leader, Monica Theodorescu and Whisper. In the second round, a miss in the tempi changes kept Schmidt and Wild Dance from victory. Their 71.333 % placed them second and in Reserve Champion's position in the 2005 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals. Theodorescu and Whisper won the Finals, which were the conclusion of the 2005 Burgpokal Series, a highly presitigous show circuit in Germany created for 7 to 9 year old dressage horses competing at Prix St Georges level.
"We are extremely happy about Wild Dance's results in Frankfurt," Dr Cesar Parra of Horses Unlimited said. "He got the highest score at the qualifiers and made a very strong impression at the Finals. Hubertus and Wild Dance have really grown as a combination over the past few months and they have shown they are one of the strongest pairs in Germany at the moment."
Dr. Cesar Parra, who has been sponsored by Ann Whitten and Mary Lou Sparks of Horses Unlimited for half a decade, will now be taking over the ride on Wild Dance from his long-time trainer Hubertus Schmidt. "Wild Dance is flying to the States next week where he will be in quarantaine for a month. He will be standing at stud for the 2006 breeding season and I will slowly prepare him for the CDI competitions in Florida in the spring," Parra explained.
Schmidt cherished the experience of having ridden Wild Dance very much. "The result of 75.67% in Aubenhausen was a real highlight," Schmidt said. "Wild Dance is a horse with unlimited potential. He's focuses himself completely on the rider and is very willing to work."
Wild Dance is a 1997 born Hanoverian stallion by Wolkenstein II out of St. Pr. St. Milva (Matcho AA x Goldstein). He is Hanoverian licensed, winner of the Stallion Performance test (with 140 points) and is also approved for the Oldenburg, Hessian, Westfalian and Rhinelander Verband. Wild Dance competed at the 2001 and 2002 Bundeschampionate Finals in Warendorf and made a successful transition to FEI level. In 2005, Dr. Cesar Parra competed Horses Unlimited's Galant du Serein at the World Cup Finals in Las Vegas at at the Olympic Games in Athens.
