Van den Dungen and Hertenhof's Sunlight in A-Team

Dutch pony rider Maria van Dungen has been submitted into the Dutch pony A-team with her liver chestnut Hertenhof's Sunlight. Dutch Pony Chef d'Equipe Mieke de Kok promoted Van den Dungen and Sunlight to the A-frame after her big show successes at the CDI-P in Le Touquet

, France, two weeks ago.

The twelve year old Maria van den Dungen is the only Dutch pony rider with two pony's in the A-team. With the 12-year old gelding Milkshake she claimed a spot in the A-team in May and has been selected to compete for The Netherlands at the 2006 European Pony Championships in Saumur, France, July 25-30, 2006.

Hertenhof's Sunlight won individual bronze at the 2005 European Pony Championships under Astrid Langeberg, who was Sunlight's previous owner and who now trains Maria together with judge Kees Verhoeven. At the CDI-P Le Touquet, Van den Dungen and Sunlight won the FEI Pony individual test with 70.90% and placed fourth in the Kur to Music with 72,583%.

Other Dutch pony A-team members are Lotte Jansen (Oosteind's Rocco), Angela Krooswijk (Power and Paint), Marit van Roy (Lordy), Henriette Ruitenbeek (Da Vinci), Laurens Sliepenbeek (Hoby) and Michelle van Lanen (Basalt).
