Karen Offield's Hanoverian stallion Tiamo Trocadero has been retired from competition and will be standing at stud at Hilltop Farm in Colora, MD, USA. Offield Farms’ Tiamo Trocadero will be a new guest stallion there. Tiamo Trocadero is by Celle stallion Trapper
out of Diana (Darling x Traumgeist xx).
Tiamo Trocadero has been shown under Rudolf Zeilinger but came into the spotlight under German Olympian Hubertus Schmidt, who rode Tiamo to the 1999 German Professional Dressage Champion's title at the Bad Honnef Dressage Festival. Tiamo then sold to the U.K., where he became Great Britain’s alternate team horse for the 2000 Sydney Olympics under Emile Faurie. He successfully competed at CDIs in Aachen, Arnheim, and Munich, where he scored over 70% in the freestyle.
Upon his arrival in the United States, Tiamo was piloted by Karin Reid-Offield to two USDF Regional Championships at the FEI level as well as numerous American Hanoverian Society All Breeds Awards at the FEI levels.
In the words of Robert Dover, who trained Tiamo’s most recent rider and owner Karin Offield over the last years “Tiamo exhibits both the extreme beauty and exquisite gaits which made his father a legend. His excellent temperament and trainability also account for Tiamo's rise to success in the international Grand Prix ring where he has remained over a decade as a top competitor.”
Karin Offield shares “Tiamo is an amazing horse. His character and his mental and physical soundness are nearly unheard of. Not only was he able to compete with the world’s best, but he brought me up the levels to grand prix. Very few horses have the capacity to do that. I’m in awe and in great debt to this magnificent stallion.”
