At the 2006 Danish Warmblood Elite Mare Show in Vilhelmsborg, Denmark, the 3-year old bay mare Bøgegaardens Don Romina won the gold medal and became the Danish Warmblood Mare Champion of the Year.

Bred by Theodor Schmidt of Bolderslev (DEN), Don Romina is owned by Andreas Helgstrand who bought her as a gift for his wife Marianne. Don Romina is by Blue Hors Don Schufro out of Bøgegaardens Laina (Lionell x Castor).

Fabula Kilen became the 2006 Danish Warmblood Jumping Mare of the Year. She is bred and owned by Henning and Åse Urup, Ansager (DEN). The mare is extremely scopey in jumping and her movements are of top quality too. Fabula Kilen is a grey mare by Carano out of Fuga Bygholm (Isotoop x Marcon)

The Urups have had tremendous successes breeding show jumping horses the past few years. Their 7-year old mare Filippa has the highest index score in jumping in the new Danish studbook for jumping horses. A member of the Russian Jumping team, Miss Ljubov Kochetova, is riding Illion Kilen. This mare was entered for the 2006 World Equestrian Games, but sadly she did not appear at Aachen in the end.

By the end of the show a total of 4 mares had been awarded gold medals. More info about the Elite Mare Show at www.varmblod.dk
