Martin Richenhagen, New German Chef d'Equipe

Martin Richenhagen has been appointed chef d'equipe of the German Dressage Team that will compete at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong, China. The German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) decided upon this appointment

during a meeting at the CDI Stuttgart last weekend.

The 55-year old Richenhagen is a highly accomplished director of several multinational companies. He is currently president and ceo of the American company Agco, a manufactury of agricultural equipment. He was also director of Forbo International SA, a flooring material business based in Switzerland, and of Claas KgaA mbH, a global farm equipment manufacturer and distributor. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Richenhagen was Senior executive vice president for Schindler Deutschland Holdings GmbH, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of elevators and escalators.

Richenhagen is a judge at Grand Prix level and has judged, for instance, at the German Bundeschampionate and many CDI's, especially in the United States. He lives in Ostbevern, Germany and Duluth, GA, USA. He will take up his function as chef d'equipe as of the 2008 CHIO Aachen. Richenhagen is succeeding Ferdi-Jörgen Wassermeyer who resigned due to health reasons.
