At the beginning of each new year, the Dutch Equestrian Federation announces the combinations that have taken a place in the Dutch Gand Prix A- and B-team following their performances during the 2007 outdoor and indoor show season.
Few changes have taken place except for new comer Aat van Essen who has captured a place on the B-team.
Aboard the chestnut Premier (Jazz x Ult), Van Essen rode himself in the picture at the World Cup Qualifier in London, where he placed third with 72,21%. The 41-year old Van Essen is a former carriage driving champion who turned to dressage six years ago. Part-time employed at the Dutch Equestrian Federation, Van Essen trained Premier, his first international Grand Prix horse, himself.
