Show Jumper Achieves Top Knock Down Price at 2009 Verden Winter Auction

A show jumper achieved the top knock down price at the 2009 Hanoverian Winter Auction in Verden, Germany, on January 24, 2009. Jumper talent Ludwig von Lehringen (by Le Primeur x Sherlock Holmes) sold for 49,000 euro to Turkey

and will be ridden by Irish Cameron Hanley. The bay gelding is bred by Friedrich Lüssmann and was trained by Christoph Kühl.

The best selling dressage horse was the 4-year old Rohan (by Rousseay x Bergamon). Bred by Reinhold Haferland, the black colt sold for 37,000 euro to a dressage rider from the Rhineland area. The His Highness x Del Piero offspring Huckleberry sold for 33,000 euro to Baden Wurttemberg.

Ninety-three horses were sold at the Winter Auction and they achieved an average sales price of 13,667 euro. Fifty horses sold abroad to fifteen different countries. Sweden purchased seven, The Netherlands and France both six.
