With no top league competition there, Van Grunsven easily won the Grand Prix with Salinero, scoring 77.021%. German Monica Theodorescu and Whisper placed second. European champion Edward Gal withdrew right before entering the ring. He had warmed up Sisther de Jeu but the mare bit her tongue and was bleeding from the mouth. For that reason Gal scratched.
