After the successful premiere of Classical Sales Warendorf in April 2009, the second edition of the auction has now been scheduled for 25th March 2010: on that date, Susanne Miesner, Fabian Scholz and their team will present another outstanding selection of talented dressage horses, correctly trained with respect to their age. “We were delighted with the response to our first auction and have since received extremely positive feedback. Many visitors asked us immediately when it would be repeated, and that motivated us even more”, reported Susanne Miesner, who successfully rides at Grand Prix level herself.
The 2009 edition of the CSW auction hit the headlines with a top price of 150,000 euros and an average price of 43,100. In what has been dubbed ‘the auction with a philosophy’, talented dressage horses, aged from three to seven and trained in a classical manner, respectful of their age, step into the spotlight. “We would like to show that careful training and effective marketing do not rule each other out. Quite the opposite: what our customers want are supple, relaxed and happy horses, with three correct paces which are always pure in their rhythm; horses with outstanding rideability, and who react to the subtlest of aids”, added Fabian Scholz. During the preparatory phase of the CSW auction, all horses will also get daily turnout in paddocks with extensive grazing. That’s why these auction horses always appear so balanced, relaxed and happy to the audience.
“We are looking for a superior selection of above-average dressage horses. There are no restrictions with regards to brands or bloodlines. The lot is actually fairly small, with around twenty horses: this enables us to focus on each horse and to serve our customers on a truly individual basis”, continued Susanne Miesner. She and Fabian Scholz, bothPferdewirtschaftsmeister, are already actively scouting for prospective candidates for the 2010 collection. “It is extremely important to us that we can fully understand each horse’s background. The horses’ upbringing and initial training, which must be consonant with our own philosophy, as well as a sound health record and very good temperament, are all decisive factors in our selection” concluded Susanne Miesner.
The 2010 collection will mainly consist of four and five-year-olds, complemented by several promising three-year-olds and completed by more experienced six-year-olds who have already been successful in dressage tests and young horse classes. The 2009 event saw talented horses sold not only to renowned training stables throughout Germany, but also to Russia, Poland, Chile, Luxembourg and Holland. Five horses drew prices of over 50,000 euros.
