The Swedish equestrian magazine Tidningen Ridsport reported that Swedish Grand Prix rider Peter Markne will return to the competition ring with a new horse: Barbados Melody.
Markne and his partner Per Sandgaard are spending the winter in Wellington, Florida, where Markne and his new horse have planned to make their show debut.
The American entrepreneur and Pether's student Robert Soros acquired Barbados Melody. The bay gelding is a 12-year old Danish warmblood by Ragazzo x May Sherif. He was trained and competed at Grand Prix level by the Danish Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard, who works at Andreas Helgstrand's stable.
"I want to go for it all the way again," Pether told Ridsport. "Barbados is like sitting in a Ferrari."
Pether will pass on his own Grand Prix horse, the 14-year old Dutch warmblood Nijinski (by Goodwill x Wisconsin) to Per Sandgaard .
