Borencio and Avanti were the winners of the 2010 Horsefood Dressage Talent competition held at Stable De Kraan in Berkel-Enschot, The Netherlands on 6 - 7 March 2010. Hans Peter Minderhoud, Edward Gal and Jan Wolfs were the judges at this talent spotting competition in which 70 horses in total participated. The top three ranked horses were ridden by guest judge riders Gal and Minderhoud in a special finals.
The 2010 Horsefood Dressage Talent show became a Florencio festival in which offspring by the Westfalian bred double Young Horse World Champion Florencio reigned supreme.
In the 4-year old division Emmelie Scholtens and her dark bay Borencio (by Florencio x Lord Sinclair) totalled 170 points and won the Dressage Talent Competition. The combination achieved 80 points in the first round and got 90 points from guest judge rider Edward Gal. Femke de Laat and the bay Ben Johnson (by Johnson x Ferro) finished second with 162 points. Ben Johnson is bred by Dutch journalist Claartje van Andel. Loes Spuls and Fido Dido (by Florencio x Climax) ranked third with 157,5 points.
The 5-year old division took place on Saturday and was won by Laurens van Lieren aboard Avanti (by United x Farrington) with 170,5 points. Frank Loos and GG Famous Dancer (by Florencio x Royal Dance) slotted in second with 156,5 points, while Jessica Nijpjes and Atleet H (by Samba Hit x Blanc Rivage) placed third with 151 points.
