"The countdown clock is ticking: Tomorrow -- Thursday -- at 7pm almost three months of preparation will be over and the 2010 edition of the "Classical Sales Warendorf" will begin.
In case you want to visit us, which would of course be our pleasure, here's some info for you:
If you've been to the Wietelshof before, you'll know that the barn itself is not very big. We'll provide the necessary parking space on a field right next to the riding arena, though. Signposts in Milte will lead you to us.
The auction will begin at 7pm -- since we have no numbered seats, we advise you to be here maybe half an hour early. A catering service will provide you with snacks and drinks, and a live band will add its part to the atmosphere.
We're very happy that Volker Raulf, traveling auctioneer (CHIO Sales et al.) will conduct the actual auction again. The horses won't be ridden during the auction, but will be auctioned "on foot", since we don't want to stress them unduly at the end of our common path. Moving pictures of each horse will be screened to complete the impression, though, a rare way of auctioning that we think we owe to our horses.
The horses can be tried out for a last time on auction day from 8am until 2pm. During the past few weeks, we've had the pleasure to welcome a great number of visitors who wanted to try the horses, from ambitious amateurs to World Champions and Olympic winners.
On Thursday we expect interested parties from Germany, but also from the USA, from England, Poland, Russia and Austria as well as Switzerland and Chile.
We are thrilled with the response we've been getting, and now we hope for a successful evening for the horses and their owners. May it be the beginning of many wonderful friendships."
