Briar Named Swedish Stallion of the Year 2010

The retired Swedish warmblood Grand Prix stallion Bjorsells Briar has been named Stallion of the Year 2010 by the Swedish Breeder's Association (ASVH). Due the successes of his offspring, Briar was bestowed with this prestigious title.

Briar (by Magini x Kroket) has proven to be a very versatile stallion, producing good dressage and show jumping get. He has ten approved sons and several offspring that is currently competing at international level.

Briar placed 17th on the 2010 WBFSH dressage sires' ranking, which is "a strong results considering that Briar has a much smalller number of offspring than many other stallions at the top," the ASVH stated.

Briar's breeder and owner Hans-Yngve Göransson will receive a special trophy for this title at the Swedish Warmblood Stallion Performance Testing in Flyinge, 26 February - 5 March 2011.
