The third edition of the Classical Sales Warendorf auction was a joyful occasion with the horses entering the arena to the tunes of the bands they were named after, performed live by the GP Fair duo.

Swiss buyers secured the top priced horse Lust am Leben, a five-year old mare by Sir Donnerhall x Bormio xx, for 134,000 euro.

The Westphalian has already won several young horse tests and has been highly placed at Novice (First) level dressage. The overall turnover reached 548,000 euros.

"We are delighted with the result, even if it is a touch below the previous year, but that reflects the current market situation - people are more cautious when spending money and are more careful about what they buy," reported creator Susanne Miesner. "We are particularly glad that the horses have gone to the right homes because it is obviously nice for us if they are trained and supported in a way that enhances their sport potential."

Two horses have found new homes in the USA, with others heading for Chile, Russia, Switzerland and Austria.

18 of the 22-horse collection have found new owners. "We kept the spectators informed about everything that was happening," stressed auctioneer Volker Raulf. Even the live streaming of the training, broadcast on the morning of the auction by Clip My Horse, was a success.

"The customer who bought Linda did so purely from the impression she got from the video," said co-creator Fabian Scholz. The four-year-old mare by Chico's Boy x Caribo GL has found a new home in Canada.
