She has been trying for a long time and fate has finally smiled upon her. British Olympic dressage rider Emma Hindle is 4 1/2 months pregnant with her first child and due to give birth in November.
The 36-year old German based rider and her partner Tobias will be first-time parents of a baby boy.
Owner of Brookhouse Stud in Erbach, Germany, Hindle will continue to ride and compete her horses as long as she physically can. "As long as I am healthy and happy and it feels right, and of course if it's safe for the baby," she told Horse and Hound. "My mother said women used to stop work for just enough time to have the baby!
Hindle had been struggling to get pregnant and was operated on in 2008.
"We've been planning for a baby for a long time and had more or less given up hope, so it wasn't scheduled for this moment in time, but it will work out well," Emma added, whose primary aim remains the London 2012 Olympics.
