Catalogue number one, De Noir M (by Don Frederico x Weltmeyer) became the top selling horse at the 2011 Hanoverian Summer Auction in Verden, Germany, last weekend. Bred by Heinrich Meyer zu Pente, De Noir M sold for 70,000 euro to a dressage rider from Hamburg.
Six more Don Frederico offspring world sold at this auction. Eighty-six Hanoverian horses were sold at an average auction sales price of 15,774 euro, so far the highest average price ever achieved at a summer auction.
Most expensive jumper was the Cranach x Sao Paulo-son Casanova (breeder and exhibitor: Bernhard Grosse-Bohne, Bohmte) which sold for 23,000 euro to Spain. Two more youngsters will accompany the bay jumper to the Iberian Peninsula. The export rate became 42%. The US, France and Sweden (each five) and Russia (four) were the countries to purchase the largest quantity of horses.
The 4-year old Eyecatcher (by Earl x Don Frederico) sold for 65,000 euro to Bavaria. Donna Antonia (by Don Frederico x A Jungle Prince) moved to Rhineland-Westfalia for 41,000 euro. Spainish customers bought Solist (by Sinatra Song x Hofrat) for 40,000. Americans paid 32,000 euro for Diego (by Dacaprio x Fabriano) while a Dutch dressage fan acquired Haddoway M (by Hotline x Acapulco) for 30,000 euro.
There was a lively interest in the auction collection already during the training period, especially for the dressage horses. Many approved German dressage trainers attended the auction on the sold-out stands of the Riding and Driving School.
"The collection convinced from the athletic point of view and was very popular with our customers," breeding manager Dr. Werner Schade said.
