The 2011 Pavo Cup reserve champion Chinook has been sold to R.P.A. Kruiniger Holding from Oostvoorne, The Netherlands. The 4-year old KWPN stallion (by Vivaldi x Havidoff) sold directly after the Pavo Cup Finals on Thursday 11 August 2011.

Horses.nl reported the news of the sale of the black stallion, which has not been licensed with the KWPN society but who is currently heading for the 2011 autumn KWPN Stallion Performance Testing thanks to his Pavo Cup achievements.

Under Emmelie Scholtens, Chinook won the 2010 VWF Dressage Cup finals for 3-year olds and finished second at the 2011 Pavo Cup Finals. Chinook, who was originally named Cowboy, was licensed for the Westfalian society in 2010.

Bred and previously owned by the Andeweg family, Chinook will continue his career in the ownership of José Kruiniger. "We had been looking for a suitable horse for quite some time and ended up with Chinook and another horse," Kruiniger told Horses.nl. "After a few test rides we decided upon Chinook. What a horse! He'll be a Best Girlfriend's horse as my friend Anietta Klip will be riding him. Next year she hopes to ride him in the Dutch selection trials for the World Young Horse Championships and the Pavo Cup Finals. We're convinced that we'll enjoy this horse very much."
