2010-2011 CHIO Cup

Stephanie Kooijman and Angela Krooswijk were the winners of the 2010-2011 CHIO Cup for Dutch Junior and Young Riders. The finals were held at the 2011 European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on Friday 19 August 2011 and it was a great opportunity for these Dutch youngsters to ride in the show ring as the Grand Prix greats of the world.

The finalists qualified for this Rotterdam based Finale by competing in a string of selection trials held throughout the show season. On Friday the qualificants had to ride the team championship test in the morning and the top six rode the kur to music later on. Both results were totaled for the final standing.

Tineke Bartels' student and employee Stephanie Kooijman and her KWPN gelding Winston (by OO Seven) reigned supreme in the junior riders division, winning the team test with 72,568% and the Kur with 78.042%. Coby van Baalen's student Rosalie Mol and the bay mare Legend (by Likoto xx) became the reserve champion with 68.739% and 72.458% scores.

Angela Krooswijk on Roman Nature In the young riders' division Angela Krooswijk and the Rhinelander stallion Roman Nature (by Rohdiamant) left no doubt about her eagerness to grab the victory. Coby van Baalen's student steered the dark bay stallion with much skill through the ring and won the team test (72.018%) and Kur to Music (74.083%). Tineke Bartels' apprentice Michelle van Lanen and the large framed liver chestnut Urchin B (by Jazz) were the reserve champions with 69.254% and 71.583%.

"We saw beautiful winners today and they achieved nice scores," said Dutch youth riders chef d'equipe Tineke Bartels. "The entire setting is of course a unique experience for these participants. They had a long day but I'm sure they had fun."
