The Lady Joseph Trust, which suppoorts elite British para riders, has announced that Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall has accepted the invitation to become President of the charity.

Trustee Henrietta Cheetham said. “ The Trust is delighted that HRH The Duchess of Cornwall has accepted our invitation to become the charity's president. The Duchess receives many requests from organisations and charities requiring her time and commitment and we are honoured that we have been accepted.

The invitation was issued following a visit by The Duchess to a para world class team training session. Our riders were thrilled by the interest and enthusiasm shown by The Duchess.”

The Lady Joseph Trust was formed in 2009 by dressage rider Henrietta Cheetham to support the elite British para riders through the purchase of suitable dressage horses to help keep Great Britain as the leading para dressage nation..

In 2010 the Lady Joseph Trust bought the 3 year old mare LJT Silhouette for gold medalist Lee Pearson as an investment in the future. This was followed by the purchase of LJT Akilles for Deb Criddle. Deb and LJT Akilles have already formed a successful partnership and were selected as members of the Great Britain team at the 2011 Para European Championships. A third recent purchase was the Knabstrupper stallion named Normark Lucas also as a ride for Lee Pearson.

The Lady Joseph Trust is hosting a fund raising cocktail party at the Cavalry and Guards Club on October 26th .
