Ravel and Vendetta were selected as champion foals at the 2011 Austrian Warmblood young horse and breeding championships held in Stadl Paura, Austria, on Saturday 24 September 2011. Both foals are sired by Blue Hors Romanov and scored a total of 8.8 and 8.5 to outclass the competition.
In the colt category the bay Ravel received the champion's sash. Bred by Erich Jirout and owned by Johann Breinesel, Ravel scored 9.0 for type, 8.5 for conformation and 9.0 for basic gaits, totalling an average of 8.8. He beat Christian Grossholzner's Flamini (by Fürst Grandios x Sandro Hit) who ended up with an 8.3 score after getting 8.5 for type, 8.0 for conformation and 8.5 for his movements.
In the filly division the dark bay Vendetta (by Romanov x Florestano x First Class II) reigned supreme. Bred and owned by Jurgen Frantsists, this filly aced her field of 14 foals that made it to the champion's ring. She scored 9.0 for type, 8.0 for conformation and 8.5 for movements to total 8.5. Paul Peinsipp's Wynona (by Sir Donnerhall I x Wolkentanz I) became the reserve champion with a 9.0 for type and 8.0 for conformation and gaits.
