Solana, Price Highlight of 2012 Westfalian Summer Auction

Westfalian Auctions in Münster-Handorf

The 4-year old mare Solana became the price highlight of the 2012 Westfalian Summer Auction held in Munster-Handorf, Germany, on Sunday 10 June 2012. The Spielberg x Furst Piccolo offspring sold for 37,000 euro to Russia.

Russian buyers also acquired the second most expensive horse, Silvestro (by Sandro Hit x Caprimond). Bred by Dietmar Kothe, this 3-year old grey gelding sold for 33,000 euro.

The 6-year old Roderiga (by Riccio x Donnerschlag) sold for 31,000 euro to Bavaria. The 4-year old gelding Fabuloso (by Florestan x Wanderbusch II) sold for 27,000 euro.

The 5-year palomino stallion Classic's Charmeur (by Classic Dancer x Domingo) was the top selling pony. Presented by Laura Klockner, this stallion sold for 9,500 euro.

Thirty-one young sport horses were sold at this auction and 40% of them move abroad. The average price was 12,810 euro.
