After a series of six selection trials, the Belgian Equestrian Federation was able to announce the combinations which have been selected to represent Belgium at the 2012 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, on 1 - 5 August 2012. Belgium is eligible to send two 5-year olds and two 6-year olds.
Based on the five best results achieved at six selection trials, the following pairs were in the top two of their age division and have earned a ticket to Verden
5-year olds
- 1. Isabel Cool - Constand, a KWPN bred gelding by Vic x Jetset D
- 2. Nick van Laer - Sir Donovan, a Hanoverian stallion by Sir Donnerhall x Weltmeyer x Bolero
The first reserve is Katrien Verreet with the Belgian warmblood stallion Bailamos Biolley (by Sir Donnerhall x Florestan), the second reserve is Natasja van den Bogaert on the Westfalian mare Athena Nika (by First Final x Laomedon)
6-year olds
- 1. Tom Franckx - Bon Bravour, a KWPN stallion by Painted Black x Chronos
- 2. Katrien Verreet - Galliani Biolley, an Belgian warmblood registered stallion by Sir Donnerhall x Lanciano
The first reserve is Tom Heylen on the Belgian warmblood gelding Gucci H (by Gribaldi x Wundermeyer), the second reserve is Andre de Vlieger on the KWPN gelding Banner Man S (by Van the Man x Symfonie).
