Renowned German show announcer and freestyle arranger Stefan Krawczyk passed away in Bremen, Germany, on 13 June 2012 after a period of illness. He was 56 years old.
The Verden based Krawczyk was a true Renaissance man: opera singer, dentist, and the voice at equestrian competitions throughout Germany following his great example Hans Heinrich Isenbart, at whose funeral he spoke in January 2012. For years Stefan worked as a dentist during the week and was an announcer on weekends. A few years ago he quit his dental practice and worked as event manager for the Hanoverian society.
Krawczyk was closely connected to the Hanoverian society his entire life. As a student he earned some pocket money by riding in Verden under Hans Joachim Kohler during the summer holidays. At the time he was joined there by Minister of Labour Ursula von der Leyen, horse dealer Ullrich Kasselmann and his wife Bianca, Hans Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen and many more.
Krawczyk also arranged freestyles and made productions for Isabell Werth, Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff, Marie Line Wettstein, Christoph Koschel and Hubertus Schmidt for instance. He was a keynote speaker at the first FEI freestyle forum held in Ankum, Germany, in 2005.
Krawczyk's last show was the CDI Mannheim on 4 - 6 May 2012.
Stefan leaves behind three children.
