
Benetton von Worrenburg became the top selling foal at the 2012 Swiss Foal Auction held for the first time at the Stadthalle Sursee, near Lucerne, Switzerland on 22 September 2012.
Auctioneer Volker Raulf knocked down the hammer on the amount of 17,000 CHF (14,000 euro) for Benetton von Worrenburg (by Bretton Woods x Florencio I x Rohdiamant).
The second most expensive foal in the collection was the dark bay colt Fürstrubin von Worrenberg (by Fürstenball x San Amour x Rohdiamant) which sold for 16,000 CHF (13,200 euro). The same knock down price was achieved by the filly Catoona PZM (by Catoo x Contendro I x Escudo I).
The most expensive jumper foal turned out to be Vinci d'Aveline (by Van Gogh x C Indoctro x Reichsgraf), which sold for 14,000 CHF (11,500 euro). The jumper colt Larino von Worrenberg (by Larimar x Acord II x Landgraf) sold for 13,000 CHF and Boreal de Pres (by Black Jack x Cassini) for 12,500 euro.
The auction, which was organised by Sandra and Ferdi Hodel, included 50 foals in the collection; 37 of them were sold, 5 not presented and 8 not sold.
